Ms. Chang grew up in San Francisco and received her law degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 1989. She was an extern for Judge Thelton Henderson in the Northern District of California and then joined the insurance defense firm of York, Buresh and Kaplan. For over two decades, she has represented property owners in litigation and transactional matters involving real estate both as insurance defense counsel and as privately retained counsel. She has extensive experience with neighbor disputes, property line problems, tree disputes, contract litigation and construction matters. Like Richard Beckman, she has developed a specialty handling landlord/tenant matters and is often sought by landlords and managers for consultation and representation. On the transactional side, Ms. Chang prepares and reviews purchase and sale agreements, helps with the drafting of custom rental and management agreements, and works with clients on local law compliance, estate planning and real estate transfers. She has a busy real estate practice which benefits from her ability to speak conversational Mandarin.
